About Us
“We are a strong network of committed activists focused on addressing issues of importance to the Hispanic Community. It is our mission to: Promote policy and legislation to advance traditional Hispanic values, full economic participation, prosperity, and entrepreneurship.”
Manuel Lujan, Founder of HAP Institute
Mission:
“To be the only proven Hispanic national grassroots network for economic freedom.”
The HAP Institute believes America’s strength comes from the economic and political freedoms we all enjoy. As we move into the 21st Century, there are efforts underway to curtail those freedoms and thereby restrict opportunity. The HAP Institute’s mission is to help Hispanics from all walks of life speak for themselves on issues affecting their chance at the American dream. Through research, public education and advocacy – and by relying heavily on input from Hispanic leaders and members – the HAP Institute is a powerful voice on behalf of hope and opportunity for Hispanic Americans.
Operations:
The organization is developing it’s a Hispanic network and national infrastructure to reach and engage significant numbers of Hispanic Americans effectively and to involve them in issue education, targeted advocacy campaigns and lobbying efforts.
Goals:
- To build a Hispanic American organization that is nationally prominent and influential in the political and legislative process.
- To recruit one million Hispanic Americans as advocates for pro business, pro ownership and pro economic growth policies leading to a more prosperous America.
- To develop a communications network to equip Hispanic Americans with the intellectual and public policy tools they need to have a real-time impact on critical debates.
- To replicate the success of the national organization through the establishment of regional or state efforts. These state groups, which in some cases may be organized down to the precinct level, will be the voice of pro business Hispanics in state capitols and city halls all across America.
- To provide research about Hispanic attitudes and opinions to inform the larger debate on issues of economic freedom and, where possible, to partner with like-minded organizations in pursuit of common goals.
